2011 — Group Drawing Exhibition

This project consisted of two portrait series, both exploring the themes of presence, disappearance, and the fragility of the human image.
In the first series, female faces existed in a state between revelation and erasure. Layers of drawing and color simultaneously pursued two opposing gestures: emphasizing the presence of the figure while obscuring it. In some works, halos and luminous forms surrounding the head evoked devotional imagery, while the face itself gradually dissolved, losing clarity and definition.
The second series was created on used tea bag papers. The choice of this material was connected to ideas of consumption, wear, and abandonment, as if the image, like its support, were subject to fading, exhaustion, and eventual disappearance.
In both series, the portrait was approached not as the representation of a specific individual, but as an unstable image—a presence that is simultaneously emerging and vanishing.
